A few words from Tim...

 

Hi, I'm Tim Buchorski. I opened Utopia with the idea of creating Hertfordshires first shop devoted to the art of body piercing. I have always been interested in body modification/adornments, when I was young, I had many relatives who I looked up to and influenced me with their body adornments, piercings and tattoos. I am also very keen on costumes and rituals of many different cultures from around the world and this interest has led me to becoming a professional body piercer.

 

 

I carried out my apprentiship at Avinit Tattoos (Orpington in Kent) and was trained by a master piercer (Graham Kirk) who has over fifteen years experience in the body piercing business. He took me under his wing and with his dedication and experience has helped me to excel in furthering my knowledge of piercing, healing techniques and one touch technique to eliminate cross contamination. Whilst working at Avinit Tattoos I had the pleasure of meeting and working with some amazing and talented people and staff. I was also very lucky to have my brother (Steve Buchorski) to encourage me and offer sound advice, when your new to the industry it can be pretty daunting and intimidating.

 

I am fastidious about cleanliness and hygiene and work to uphold the highest standards of hygiene, ethics and education as promoted by E.P.P.A (European Professional Piercers Association) of whom I have been a member since 2000.

 

These days Body Piercing has become more socially acceptable and is a unique, fashionable and fun way to express yourself. It's great to be in a job that lets me meet so many interesting and inspirational people and long may it continue. Thanks to all my customers over the years and I look forward to meeting all you new ones in hopefully the many years to come.
